Salesforce Newbies

I am new to Salesforce, I first found out about SFDC in the summer 2012 (Olympic 2012). This was as an end user, Salesforce did magic for the project I was working on, since then I have been very interested in being a part of what I call Salesfore revolution. So join me in my journey of exploring SFDC and above all obtaining my certification. This page is not targeted at all you SFDC pros, so please go away!!! lol the page is targeted at all you beginners, clueless, scared, and above simple people who just want to get around SFDC. Basically people like me that just want to be a Salesforce Administrator, don't worry guys as we start this journey we will surely develop, just remember to practice practice and practice.
I believe SFDC is very interesting and anyone can use it providing you have a business acumen. Some people are however better than others. With SFDC you have to remember that terminologies is very crucial for instance the word Object  in Salesforce means a single object i.e Opportunities or Leads, there you go just by reading the description of this blog you are already learning. Cloud computing or CRM aspect of Salesforce remains very prominent, yes Cloud! Cloud is when you can access everything via internet, another lesson learnt.
As I am starting out  my favourites elements on Salesforce is the integration of Salesforce through App exchange. App exchange is like ITunes, Android market, App exchange is however business centric. You can download thousands of apps to help you develop your day to day business needs. For example you can track all your contacts by connecting with them on social media, by downloading an app which tracks contacts on Twitter, Facebook and linkedin. If you are wondering which ones, you can try fliptop (I have used it on my developer Salesforce). Which brings me to saying if you are serious about learning how to use Salesforce  it is highly important for you to sign up for the free developer to once again practice practice and practice.
Another quick one for all you Salesforce newbie; you might want familiarize your selves with all Salesforce applications and editions of Salesforce:
o   Sales Cloud –This basically improves your sales productivity
o   Service Cloud-This is for a customer service business
o   Force.com-  This for building business applications
o   Chatter –This is the social aspect of Salesforce think about cutting down endless internal emails. With chatter you can communicate in real time and follow cases.
Don’t let me bombard you with all the definition on here, but at least you can begin to have an idea on what this blog will be about.
I hope my blog breaks everything down to you in the most simplistic way, let us leave all the complicated parts to annoying HOT headed idiots who love showing off with their technical jargon. In addition please let me know if you have specific areas you would like me to explore and feed it back to you. At the end of the day we are all learning. Learning is fun!!!!
